The 53rd PGA Professional Championship
Dates: April 26-29
Location: Omni Barton Creek Resort & Spa, Austin, Texas
The 53rd PGA Professional Championship presented by Cadillac, Club Car and OMEGA will feature a 312-member nationwide field. The Champion receives the Walter Hagen Cup and automatic exemptions to six PGA Tour events over a 12-month period and one of golf’s major championships—the 2020 PGA Championship. The low 20 scorers at Barton Creek also earn a berth in the 2020 PGA Championship at Harding Park Golf Club in San Francisco. The PGA Professional Championship will consist of four rounds of stroke play on two courses. Cuts are made after 36 holes to the low 90-plus ties, and low 70-plus ties after 54 holes.
Begun in 1968, the PGA Professional Championship presented by Club Car and OMEGA, is the showcase event for PGA Professionals and offers a $550,000 purse. The field includes players advancing from Sectional Championships; past Champions and the top 20 players and ties from the previous year’s Championship.
